2001 FRQ 5 - You must complete the checklist on the back (check the boxes). This tells me that you have purposefully gone over each item on the list. If you check off that you have resolved the 7ths and I find an unresolved 7th, you will receive no credit for the assignment.

Do the second and third pages of the secondary dominant packet.
Process for understanding secondary dominants:
1. What are the notes?
2. What is the chord quality?
3. What is the likely function of that chord based on its quality and the key you are in (i.e. a major "two" chord is likely serving the function as a dominant chord (V), a diminished chord is likely functioning as a viio chord).
4. What is the harmonic analysis of the chord?
Warning: Triad and interval speed quizzes coming soon...

We did a FRQ 1 - melodic dictation.
We reviewed secondary dominants.
We reviewed harmonizing a soprano line.
Homework 1997 FRQ 7:
1. Provide all possible HA for given soprano line.
2. Choose appropriate cadences at the ends of phrases (marked by fermatas).
3. Look for strong progressions and circle your choices.
We will pick it up from there. I will check for completion.
