You will be asked to play two melodic minor scales (one octave) from the following keys:

a, d, g, c, f, e, b, f#, c#

Again, good piano technique is not required, you may play the scale only using one finger if you wish.  I am grading purely on accuracy of pitches. 

This assignment is worth 10 points.  Every wrong note you play will subtract 1 point from your score.  You have a total of 30 seconds to play each scale, taking no longer than 5 seconds between successive notes.

Brahms Symphony (rewrite the melody verbatim. Add accidentals as needed to put the melody into the requested minor versions or modes).
Last page: add accidentals (or naturals) as needed to put each melody into requested mode. For example, Example 1 is in D minor and they want D dorian. Dorian is minor with a raised 6th so you would merely add a natural to the B in the second measure.

>should have a good mix of leaps and steps to give it a melodic shape
>avoid too large or awkward leaps (ie 6ths, 7ths, tritones) octaves are fine
